LINER/5 is an independent music-discovery project operated by Christopher Munoz. This page explains what information LINER/5 collects, why it is used, and the services that help operate the site.

Information we collect

Website usage information. When you grant analytics consent, Google Analytics may collect information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, device and browser information, traffic source and interaction events.

DROP/5 progress and voting. The site stores a randomly generated anonymous browser identifier and per-drop progress in your browser storage so you can:

  • continue an unfinished drop;
  • keep your sleeve progress;
  • submit one vote per drop;
  • return to the results.

Voting records are stored in Supabase and link the drop, the selected track, the anonymous browser identifier and the time of the vote. This identifier belongs to a browser, not a person: it does not prove a unique human identity, and a vote does not tell LINER/5 who you are.

Newsletter subscriptions. When you enter your email address to receive future DROP/5 editions, it is sent directly to Kit. LINER/5 does not store newsletter email addresses in Supabase. Subscriptions use double opt-in: you must confirm your email before becoming a confirmed subscriber.

Contact email. If you email hello@linerfive.com, your message is forwarded through ImprovMX to the operator’s inbox.

How we use information

Information is used to:

  • operate DROP/5;
  • remember your progress;
  • enforce one anonymous browser vote per drop;
  • display aggregate listener results;
  • understand how people use the site, when analytics consent is granted;
  • improve the product;
  • send newsletter emails you asked for;
  • respond to direct inquiries;
  • maintain security and troubleshoot technical issues.

Service providers

  • Lovable — website hosting, deployment and server-side application runtime.
  • Supabase — stores DROP/5 content and anonymous voting records. The current database is hosted in the East US (North Virginia) region; Supabase may process some information elsewhere as part of its service.
  • Kit — newsletter signup, subscriber management and email delivery.
  • Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager — website analytics and measurement, activated only according to the site’s consent settings.
  • ImprovMX — forwards email sent to hello@linerfive.com.
  • Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube — embedded or external music-listening destinations.

When you interact with Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube, those companies may process information under their own privacy policies.

Analytics and consent

  • Analytics is optional.
  • You can accept or reject analytics through the site’s cookie choices.
  • Rejecting analytics does not stop the main DROP/5 experience from working.
  • You can reopen “Cookie choices” in the footer at any time to change your preference.
  • LINER/5 does not intentionally send email addresses, names, newsletter subscriber IDs or the anonymous voting identifier to Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.

Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand product usage and performance.

Browser storage

LINER/5 uses browser storage for functional purposes, such as:

  • the anonymous browser identifier;
  • sleeve and drop progress;
  • completion state;
  • returning-visitor state;
  • your consent preference.

Clearing your browser or site storage may reset your local progress or create a new anonymous browser identifier.

Voting results

  • Votes are combined to produce percentages and the Listener Pick.
  • Public results do not show the total number of voters or raw vote records.
  • Individual votes are not exposed through the public site.

Data retention

  • Local browser data stays on your device until it is removed by you, your browser or the site itself.
  • Newsletter data stays in Kit until you unsubscribe or the record is otherwise deleted.
  • Voting and operational data may be kept for product measurement, integrity, analysis and portfolio reporting, unless there is a reason to remove it.
  • Analytics retention follows the settings configured in Google Analytics.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • reject or change your analytics consent;
  • unsubscribe from emails using the link in each newsletter;
  • clear your browser storage;
  • contact hello@linerfive.com with privacy questions or requests about your personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including rights to access, correct or delete certain personal information. Because votes are tied only to an anonymous browser identifier, LINER/5 may not be able to link a vote back to you.

International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in.

Changes to this policy

This page may be updated as LINER/5 changes. The current version will always be posted here.
